Description

Get ready for an immersive experience!
This dynamic introduction to meditation practice kicks off with a presentation focused on the scientific research exploring the neurological effects of meditation on the brain led by PHD Student Kieran Fox.

Then we move through a series of practical workshops that will provide a friendly and comfortable hands-on introduction to different meditation and mindfulness practices as well as how to engage with meditation in our everyday lives, off the cushion.

Attendees will choose one morning workshop:

- Zen meditation with Eshin Godfrey and E'cho Sirotnik, or

- Engaged Buddhism with Brian Callahan

and one afternoon workshop:

- Spiritual Ecologies with Maya Graves-Bacchus and Sarah Jarvis, or

- Tao of Now (music meditation) with Remington Cooney

We wrap-up with an exploration of compassion cultivation and its effects on the wider community lead by Magdalena (Magda) Szpala, a Compassion Cultivation Training Teacher certified by the Center for
Compassion and Altruism Research and Education at Stanford University.

This one-day conference will leave you feeling grounded and ready to engage with the world.
